Setting the worldwide standard for heavy plate

Aktien-Gesellschaft der Dillinger Hüttenwerke (Dillinger), with its subsidiary Dillinger France in Dunkirk (France), is a world leader in the manufacture of premium heavy plate made from steel. This plate is used in the areas of steel construction, machine manufacturing, construction machinery, offshore construction, linepipe, and much more. The high-tech plate shows its versatility in applications at various sites for a wide array of purposes: it is used in pumped storage hydroelectricity plants all over the world and in what is currently the largest offshore wind farm “Thanet” – just two examples for the production of clean energy through innovations made from Dillinger steel. Dillinger invests continuously in optimizing and modernizing its facilities and processes in order to maintain and enhance the company’s technological competitive edge. The latest investments in the future: construction of a new continuous casting machine in Dillingen and a plant specifically for manufacturing foundations for offshore wind power plants in Nordenham (Lower Saxony). In all, an average of more than EUR 80 million is being invested each year at the Dillingen site – with the lion’s share going to improving environmental protection.
