Highest standard for climate protection: SHS Group maintains spot on CDP A List

19 December 2025

The environmental organization CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) has repeatedly recognized the conscientious climate protection practices of the SHS Group (SHS - Stahl-Holding-Saar, Saarstahl Aktiengesellschaft and Aktien-Gesellschaft der Dillinger Hüttenwerke). CDP has once again awarded one of its globally recognized spots on this year’s “A List” to the companies of the SHS Group. CDP allots places on its list each year on the basis of data provided by the companies.

The aim of CDP is to present a fully transparent account of the CO2 and environmental data voluntarily submitted by companies, organizations and cities. CDP compiles and manages the data in what is now the world’s largest climate protection database. The assessment covers a range of categories including business and financial planning, risk assessment, decarbonization strategy, responsibility in the supply chain, governance and energy, as well as initiatives to reduce emissions.

Jonathan Weber, Member of the Board of Management of SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar and Chief Financial and Transformation Officer of Dillinger and Saarstahl, said: “Our continued placement on the CDP A List validates our business practices, because sustainability is not an afterthought for us. With our ambitious Power4Steel transformation project, we have clearly defined the path to CO2-reduced steel production. The fact that CDP has repeatedly awarded the SHS Group its top A rating also confirms for our customers and partners that we remain steadfast in following our chosen path.”

The SHS Group with Saarstahl and Dillinger achieved the top A rating for the third time in a row and are included on the A List. The result of the current CDP ranking is available for interested customers.
